Daniel Segner

Daniel Segner is an organist, choral director, and accompanist based in Chicago and the Western Suburbs. He holds the position of Principal Organist at New England Congregational Church in Aurora and accompanies many of the musical ensembles under the Fox Valley Music Consortium umbrella. Daniel directs two community choirs (Hinsdale and Wheaton/Glen Ellyn) as part of the Sounds Good Choir arts organization and serves as a production specialist for the organization providing additional support for numerous ongoing projects. 

A winner of the Reidenbach Prize in Church Music/Organ Performance, the Albert Schweitzer Organ Competition, and the David Spicer Hymn Playing Award, Daniel has been lauded for his dynamic playing and performs accessible organ programs across the Midwest. He can also be found on the Gothic label for his recording as a youth of “Handel’s Messiah: Excerpts” with the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, and has extensive international choral performance experience in Germany, France, and England.

As a performer and collaborator, he has performed solo recitals and accompanied groups at Loyola University, Oberlin, University of Oklahoma, Lutheran Theological Seminary at Chicago, Aurora University, Roosevelt University, DePaul University, and Northwestern School of Music. Additionally, he has performed with the Chicago Symphony, Civitas (Chicago Chamber Ensemble), Chorus Angelorum, Leipzig Baroque Orchestra (Leipziger Barockorchester), LaPorte Symphony, Salt Creek Chamber, and Valparaiso Symphony orchestras. Daniel is a member of the American Guild of Organists, American Choral Directors Association, and the Western Springs Music Club.
